From New Line Cinema, Peter Jackson and Warner Bros. comes J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, brought to the big screen in an epic trilogy. Weta Workshop was thrilled to return to Middle-earth once again, contributing design, specialty props and specialty costumes to all three films. Weta's map has been made from a scan of the original and printed in Middle-earth (New Zealand) on the finest Italian Marina Conchiglia parchment paper. It contains not only the lay of the land, but also detailed instructions. Some clear as day, some concealed. Designed and drawn by Daniel Reeve of the 3Foot7 art Department who created the original prop for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Every great adventure needs a treasure map and in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the map was created by Thror, grandfather of Thorin Oakenshield. Thorin's Map - Parchment Art Print is a treat to behold and the die-cut edges add to the feeling of authenticity.
