With the model's prototype garage kit created by sculptor Hiroshi Iseya, its form was revised and details were added by Yasushi Suzuki, the game's original designer. With this new look, Ikaruga is reborn as a 1/144 scale model kit. As this kit was designed to be geared towards advanced modelers, it includes more details and complexities in the sculpt that would otherwise be omitted in a typical kit, allowing for a faithful recreation. The distinctive homing beam attack and landing arm can be recreated through the replacement of parts. The patterns on the fuselage are recreated using mold shape and decals. The base features a motif of the final boss of the game, the Stone-Like, which further adds to the atmosphere of this piece. The package art has also been drawn by Yasushi Suzuki himself.
